New Hope, PA (7/06/2020) – Acknowledging recent spikes in COVID-19 case around the country, the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, with the best interest of attendee’s, artists and volunteers at heart, has decided to cancel its 27th annual New Hope Arts & Crafts Festival that was scheduled to be held September 26th and 27th of 2020.

The event had added an outsider art category this year as was accepting talents from all over Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and as far away as Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland, and up-state New York. With such a vast demographic of artists and visitors the Chamber moved to err on the side of caution while closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, a decision that was not easy to come by.

The New Hope Arts & Crafts Festival typically boasts visual arts consisting of premier artists and craftspeople from around the country who specialize in oil painting, pastels, watercolors, drawing, etching, mixed media, black & white and color photography, soft and hard sculpture, wood turning and rustic furniture, pottery and glassware, wearable art including leather and fabric handbags and handspun or felted clothing, jewelry including hand-blown glass beadwork as well as precious and semi-precious metals and stones. For 2020 the Festival had also been in the stages of completely revamping the already stellar food court with some favorite healthy choices as requested by artists and visitors alike. This being a theme that will carry into 2021.
